We have a wide range of activities designed to promote well-being among the congregation and the wider community. In addition to what is listed below, our halls are used by Cambusbarron Primary School Out of School Club, Brownies, Parkinson's Group and the facilities can be hired for special occasions including parties. To make a booking enquiry, please contact Ann Jeffrey, our Hall Letting Convenor
We are a small and friendly fellowship group, primarily of retirement age, that meets once a month on the 4th Thursday of the month at 11am. Everyone is most welcome – you can be assured of a genuinely warm welcome. Our meetings include prayer, the singing of hymns and choruses and a spiritual message, usually given by our Minister, Graham Nash, but by others if he is not available. Some who come to these services are not regular Church attendees and so the message is really appreciated. There will be no midweek services during July and August.
Church open for prayer
Each Tuesday from 10am - 1pm, the Church is open to everyone who wants to have a quiet time for prayer.
An hour long weekly prayer meeting alternating between mornings and afternoons on Wednesdays where we pray for people and situations within the church.
We have film nights periodically and full details of our next film will be announced later.
This is a monthly get together of ladies of any age at Cambusbarron church hall. Women gather together, often drawn by the need to escape occasionally from the stresses and worries of daily living. We chat, laugh and generally socialise!! An outreach opportunity exists in that some members occasionally bring friends and relatives and this adds value to this event. They are held on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 12.00pm for 12.30pm.
The Gents lunch meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 12.00pm for 12.30pm. Gentlemen enjoy a delicious 3 course lunch followed by tea or coffee, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The cost is whatever you can donate. We also enjoy the friendship and fellowship of having a meal. We welcome all from whatever walk of life. Numbers are limited, but don’t let that put you off.
This is a great time for anyone to enjoy a good cup of coffee or tea with excellent home made cakes and biscuits and fellowship. Well known in the village for the lovely treats! They are held from 10am-12 noon on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
Evening FellowshipThis is an informal monthly meeting on the 1st Wednesday of the month in the evening from 7.30-9.00 and is held in people's houses.
This is a good time for anyone to come along and join in our group presentations and discussions and enjoy good fun and fellowship. The speakers are often local folk giving talks on a variety of subjects. They are held monthly on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday mornings of the month from autumn to spring.
Knit and Natter
This is a perfect time for anyone who enjoys knitting or wants to learn as well as having good fun and fellowship. Various knitting projects have taken place including knitting poppies which decorated the church on Remembrance Sunday. This meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th (when applicable) Thursday of the month from 10am-12 noon.
Cambusbarron Wellbeing Singers
A fortnightly get-together with a focus on singing on alternate Tuesdays 10.30-12.00. Singing can improve our sense of happiness and wellbeing so we invite people of all ages to come along and sing with us in a relaxed informal setting and form new friendships – no experience required. This will have a break over the summer months from April to September. Restart dates will be advertised later.
