Re-opening Our Church Building
The Scottish Government has given permission for churches to re-open for the purpose of individual prayer, though not yet for services or any communal worship. Our Kirk Session has agreed that we will re-open our church and church hall, but only when it is safe to do so and subject to meeting all the requirements and advice given by the government and the Church of Scotland.
We have set up a small working group to consider what we need to do to make the church a safe place for anyone who wants to come for private prayer. This is likely to involve a good deal of work and, of course, time. The guidance from the Church of Scotland is extensive and we will need to follow it all through and then, when the work is completed, obtain approval from Presbytery.
Meanwhile, we are also having some necessary repairs done to the church building, so that it will be fully ready for use when we are able to re-open it.
We will make sure everyone is kept up-to-date on the progress of all the re-opening work as it advances.
